Books on Hajj
There are several books that I want to read. Here are a few that I have started to
look through and hope to finish and revisit.
1. Hajj – The Pilgrimage to Mecca by Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi
2. Hajj by Dr. Ali Shariati
3. Hajj Manasek – the Rulings by Ayatullah Sistani
4. Hajj Journal by QFatima
Salaat on the Plane
I have prepared our itinerary from the day we leave Canada. I am not sure of our exact dates of travel to various places once we reach Medina and from there on, however I shall fill these dates and timings in as I come to know them. This will help me prepare better for where I will pray my Salaat and at what times.
Preparing a Will
I am kind of nervous to prepare my will. I guess everybody feels they will live forever so they will get around to it. However, this is something I definitely want to do before I go.
Repayment of Debts and Ask for Forgiveness
This is extremely important for me. I know that this is a key factor for my journey and that I need to have a clean slate with others before I go to the House of Allah (SWT) and ask for Him to Forgive me. I’ve been in touch with friends and family but more than anything being aware of this duty of mine, is helping me be more cautious with my words.
Ihram
My mum is stitching one Ihram for me, which I am extremely excited about. She is going to send it ahead when it is finished so that I may try it on and be comfortable in it prior to the trip. It is advisable to have two sets of Ihram for the journey. A family member recently called saying someone had given them Ihram for whoever might be going Hajj. She passed it on, and Alhamudulillah it was a perfect fit 🙂
Walking!
My husband and I have started walking as much as we can. Though it is the month of Mahe Ramadhan right now and the heat is intense, we try to go out in the evenings, and will make it more of our routine after the Holy Month has passed.
